Absurd! Be Absurd! Absurd Absurd!

Absurdity
A
garnishing of syrup over dead leaves in Jupiter makes me nostalgic for sea.
Did
you just do a do do on the do do? Do you do or not do? Not do Not do Not do
Quote
of the Day
“The
mind, placed before any kind of difficulty, can find an ideal outlet in the
absurd. Accommodation to the absurd readmits adults to the mysterious realm
inhabited by children.”

An
Absurd World…
In
July, 2018, a British couple, both grandparents, spent a night in a Greek jail
after being accused of espionage and spying, after a 55-year old male took a
couple of photos on his mobile phone of two army dinghies while the couple were
on holiday. The man has an interest in the military and thought nothing of
taking a couple of holiday snaps on his phone. Soon, however, they were
handcuffed and put into a small cockroach and mosquito infested cell before
being transported to a local courthouse the next morning and having a brief
hearing in front of a magistrate. A couple of weeks later the case was dropped
and their phones returned
An
Absurd Thought or A Thought From The Absurd?
When
we say, passed away, do we mean:
The
person leaves? Or does something, everything, nothing, leave the person?
Yet
More Absurdity…
Was
the materialist a fundamentalist of epic tiny proportions eating ice-cream on an
island made for donkeys who wear shoes? Or was it red? Or was it number 8? Or
was it a was? Fashion shoes!!!!
From
The Great Man Edward Lear…
There
was an Old Person of Dundalk,
Who
tried to teach Fishes to walk;
When
they tumbled down dead,
He
grew weary, and said,
‘I
had better go back to Dundalk!’
(From
the Book: Complete Nonsense)
Go
Absurd! Exercise:
If
talking to someone you probably won’t see again, throw a random word or small
sentence into the conversation, such as cup cakes are cool or did you
see the sailor walk? Do it casually so they might not even notice and if
they do you can both have a laugh. If you want, that is the time to explain the
exercise…
Remember
Absurd
responsibly. The Buddhist no harm principle applies here. Do not harm
yourself or others when going absurd. (Maybe what I have just written is
absurd?)
